Shelley Duncan Returns From Paternity List, Jason Donald Optioned To Triple-A

Stay connected for news and updates

On Friday afternoon, the Cleveland Indians announced that Shelley Duncan was being reactivated from the paternity list and in order to make room for him on the active roster, the Indians optioned utility infielder Jason Donald to the club's Triple-A affiliate, the Columbus Clippers.

Duncan was placed on the paternity list on Wednesday as he and his wife had been expecting the birth of twins.

Donald was originally called up on June 30, when third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall fractured his right ulna against the Baltimore Orioles and required surgery to repair the injury. In two appearances with the club since the call-up, Donald went 1-for-3 at the plate with a double, two walks and one strikeout.
