The Indians and Royals will meet for the final time in 2012 on Sunday afternoon after splitting the first two games of the season's penultimate series. Cleveland has a three-game set at home against the White Sox remaining after this one.
Luke Hochevar will get the start for the Royals, he's gone 8-15 with a 5.43 ERA in 2012. The former No. 1 overall selection has peripherals that would probably suggest slightly better results than he's seen this year, and he's been striking out batters at a career-high rate of 6.82 per nine innings on the season. He was hit hard in his last start though, giving up a season-high 12 hits against the Tigers.
Zach McAllister will be opposing Hochevar on Sunday. The Indians rookie has compiled a 5-8 record with a 4.25 ERA in 2012. McAllister has been striking out loads of batters, but he's a very flyball-oriented pitcher who is prone to giving up home runs. This will be McAllister's final start in 2012.
The game will begin at 1:05 p.m. ET Sunday at Progressive Field. Radio coverage can be found on WTAM 1100, while television coverage is available on STO.

Kansas City's Tony Abreu broke a 6-6 tie in the top of the 14th inning with a single to center to score Mike Moustakas from second that proved to be the decisive run that secured the Royals 7-6 victory.
The Indians answered by loading the bases in the bottom of the 14th with nobody out, but Royals' reliever Kelvin Herrera forced two straight shallow pop-ups and a Casey Kotchman ground out to first to end the game.
Down 6-2 after seven innings, the Indians rallied in the eighth when Shin-Soo Choo had a bases loaded single to score two runs to cut the Royals' lead to 6-4.
The Indians continued their rally in the ninth when pinch hitter Asdrubal Cabrera doubled to center off of Greg Holland, scoring Carlos Santana and Lonnie Chisenhall from second and third to tie the game 6-6. After back-to-back walks to Michael Brantley and Ezequiel Carrera, Choo had a chance to win the game with the bases loaded but flied out to center to send the game to extra innings.
Each team used nine pitchers in the game.
Jeff Francoeur led the Royals going 2-for-6 including a three-run homer in the third that gave the Royals a 6-1 lead.

After getting a win Friday in Sandy Alomar Jr.'s managerial debut for the Cleveland Indians, the Tribe looks to make it two straight wins for Alomar and four straight overall as they face the Kansas City Royals at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.
The Indians are tied with the Minnesota Twins for last place in the AL Central, but have a chance to gain ground this weekend. The Kansas City Royals have lost six straight while the Twins are playing the first-place Detroit Tigers.
Jeanmar Gomez (5-8, 5.54 ERA) starts for the Indians. Gomez has lost four of his last five decisions, and he has struggled in three appearances (two starts) against the Royals this season. He's 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in those games.
Jake Odorizzi (0-1, 5.06 ERA) starts for the Royals. Odorizzi is a rookie making his second career start. His first start was also against Cleveland, a 15-4 Indians win on Sept. 23. Odorizzi, however, didn't give up the bulk of those runs. He surrendered just three earned runs in 5.1 innings.

The top three hitters in the Cleveland Indians lineup drove in six runs as the Indians beat the Kansas City Royals 8-5 Friday, one day after firing manager Manny Acta and replacing him on an interim basis with Sandy Alomar Jr.
An RBI-double in the second inning by Adam Moore put the Royals up 1-0, but the Indians responded with eight unanswered runs over the next four innings.
RBI-singles by Cord Phelps and Ezequiel Carrera and an RBI-double by Shin-Soo Choo in the second inning gave Cleveland a 3-1 lead.
Lonnie Chisenhall had an RBI-double in the third to make it 4-1.
Choo drove in another run with his second double of the game in the fourth inning. Jason Kipnis drove in three runs, one on an RBI-groundout in the fourth and the other two on a single in the fifth.
Kansas City scored two runs each in the sixth and the eighth to make the score closer, but the Cleveland bullpen limited the damage in each inning.
David Huff (3-0, 2.86 ERA) picked up the win, giving up three earned runs in six innings while striking out five. Chris Perez pitched a scoreless ninth for his 39th save of the season.
