Blue Jackets Vs Lightning Final Score: Columbus Falls 4-2 In Tampa Bay

Stay connected for news and updates

In most predictable fashion, the Columbus Blue Jackets lost 4-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning at Tampa Bay Times Forum on Tuesday night.

Not to set a sour mood, but the result was hardly a surprise considering the form of the teams entering tonight -- the Lightning have now won four in a row while the Blue Jackets have lost four in a row.

Brett Lebda tied the game 1-1 in the first period for Columbus and Ryan Johansen drew them to within 3-2 in the third period, but goals by Mike Angelidis, Vincent Lecavalier, Martin St. Louis and Nate Thompson proved far too much to overcome.

For better or worse, the Blue Jackets get some time to reflect before they continue on their road trip a week from tonight, on Jan. 31, when they face off against the San Jose Sharks. They continue with two more games in California against the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks.
