Blue Jackets Vs. Wild Final Score: Columbus Sweeps Home-And-Home With Minnesota

The Columbus Blue Jackets may be the NHL's worst team, but they swept the Minnesota Wild in this week's home-and-home, both by a score of 3-1. In mid-December, the Minnesota Wild were the NHL's best team at 20-7-3. Since then, they are 5-15-5 and sit two points entirely out of the playoff picture.

R.J. Umberger scored twice for the Columbus Blue Jackets, including one on the power play with 21 seconds left in the second period to give the Blue Jackets a 2-1 lead going into the final frame.

Columbus put the game away with an empty netter at the 19:11 mark by James Wisniewski. Minnesota outshot Columbus 35-19, but Steve Mason was stellar in his first game since January 31.

Columbus plays again on Sunday vs. Anaheim.

Blue Jackets Vs. Wild: Columbus Sweeps Home-And-Home Series Against Minnesota, 3-1

The Columbus Blue Jackets hosted the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, picking up a 3-1 victory. On Saturday night, the two teams will meet in Minnesota to complete the home-and-home series this week.

Columbus' David Savard scored his first career goal in the victory while Antoine Vermette and Jeff Carter netted the other goals. Nate Prosser scored the Wild's lone goal, but Curtis Sanford made 29 other saves to pick up the victory.

However, Columbus dropped a 4-2 decision on Thursday to the Dallas Stars. That loss now has the Blue Jackets as losers in seven of their last nine games. The win over the Wild was the back end of back-to-back wins.

Minnesota, meanwhile, enters this contest as losers in four of their last five games. That lone win, 1-0, came against the Colorado Avalanche on Feb. 2. The Wild hold a 2-1 season-series advantage over the Blue Jackets entering this game.
