Blue Jackets Vs. Rangers: Columbus Falls 3-2 To Red Hot Rangers

The Columbus Blue Jackets went to the Big Apple to face the smoking hot New York Rangers on Sunday night, and the Rangers closed their goal like a fortress. Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist only had to face 23 shots and allowed a pair of goals, but it was enough to force overtime. The first goal came in the second period on the power play when Derick Brassard knocked home his 11th marker of the season.

Brad Richards had his 18th goal of the season in the first period and Artem Anisimov added his 11th goal of the season midway through the second period after Richards' goal to provide both regulation goals for the Rangers.

The Blue Jackets had three power play chances after the Rangers took the lead, but got a tying goal past Lundqvist when Rick Nash scored with less than two minutes left.

That got the Blue Jackets to overtime and earned them a point in the standings, but it took only Derek Stepan 22 seconds to score in the overtime period to get the win for New York.
