Blue Jackets Vs. Penguins: Columbus Tries To Slow Down Pittsburgh

Blue Jackets Look To Keep Pace With Penguins.

Feb 26, 2012 - The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday afternoon at the CONSOL Engergy Center.

The Penguins present yet another tough challenge for Columbus which they are getting used to as the NHL's worst team. The Blue Jackets have given up more than four goals per game while going 1-3 in their last four games including a 5-0 loss to Colorado on Friday.

Pittsburgh is trending in the opposite direction as they work to improve their standing in the Eastern Conference with the playoffs starting to come into view. The Penguins are 3-1 in their last four games in which they scored 18 goals, including a season-high on Saturday in their 8-1 win over Tampa Bay.

Evgeni Malkin delivered a hat trick on Saturday as the Pens' leading scorer now has 77 points on the season in 54 games.

Columbus hopes to get a boost from the return of goaltender Curtis Sanford who has missed the past couple of weeks with a back injury.
