Blue Jackets Vs. Stars Final Score: Dallas Strikes Early, Holds On To Beat Columbus 4-2

Dallas left winger Jamie Benn jump-started things for the Stars scoring the first of two goals on the night less than two minutes into the game. When Stephane Robidas opened the second period with a goal, the Stars were up 3-0 appeared in control of the game.

But the Blue Jackets rallied back by the end of the second period, with a power play goals by Vinny Prospal and Rick Nash to close the gap to 3-2 heading into the final period. Columbus couldn't get another shot by Dallas goaltender Kari Lehtonen who had 26 saves on the night for the Stars.

Blue Jackets Vs. Stars NHL Preview: Columbus Going For Three Straight Wins

The Columbus Blue Jackets are on a somewhat surprising winning streak, taking their last two outings to snap a six-game losing skid. Columbus beat the Minnesota Wild 3-1 on Tuesday to win their second straight after besting the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 in overtime on Friday. They've got a tough outing in their next game, however, as they're taking on the Dallas Stars.

Dallas has clearly been the better team this season, competing in the tough Pacific Division and actually leading it at one point, but they have been playing poorly as of late. In January, the Stars went 4-6-1 and over their last ten games, they've had the same record as Columbus, going 3-6-1. Dallas has a tough slate of games ahead and are hoping to get back in the win column with a win over Columbus.

The Blue Jackets, meanwhile, are trying to even up the series for the final game this season. The Stars won two games in a three-day span in October, while Columbus took the most recent outing at the end of the year with a 4-1 score. Over the three games, both teams have scored eight goals. Columbus has allowed six goals over their past three games, after having allowed four goals in three-straight games. Dallas is still trying to compete in the Western Conference, just two points out of a playoff spot.
