Columbus looks to avenge recent loss to Edmonton.
With two weeks remaining in the NHL season and playoff hopes long faded, the Columbus Blue Jackets host the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday afternoon playing simply for pride.
Edmonton may have fallen out of playoff contention but they continue to make noise with some impressive wins. The Oilers will complete a four-game road trip at Columbus and are 2-1 so far which includes strong wins over Nashville and Florida. Goaltender Devan Dubnyk shut out the Blue Jackets 3-0 in the last meeting ten days ago.
Columbus is also 2-1 in their last three games including a 5-1 win over Carolina in their last game thanks to a hat trick by left winger R.J. Umberger. Steve Mason will try to keep up his strong play for the Blue Jackets, as the Columbus goaltender is now 6-2 in the month of March.
The puck is scheduled to drop at 3:00 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on Fox Sports Ohio.
