The Big Ten only has one team in the top 10 of the initial BCS rankings, and the Wisconsin Badgers are a disappointing 6th after being rated 4th in both the AP and Coaches polls. The Badgers have dominated their competition so far, but with five of their six victories coming against marginal competition their strength of schedule has taken a hit. They have a chance to boost their schedule with consecutive trips to Michigan State and Ohio State. The Buckeyes were not in the initial BCS top 25, but their 17-7 win over Illinois knocked the Fighting Illini to #23.
The LSU Tigers were #1 in the first poll, with the Alabama Crimson Tide at #2. The two will play in a few weeks in SEC West play. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, also a regular season matchup later on, were #3 and #4, respectively.
In the Big Ten Nebraska, who last played in their come from behind win over Ohio State, was #13. Michigan State was #16, passing Michigan with their victory this weekend over the #18 Wolverines. Penn State was also in the top 25 at #21 after beating Purdue.
