The Associated Press has released their Preseason Top 25 for the 2011-2012 college basketball season, and there's very few surprises. North Carolina beginning the season as the National Title favorites is not one of them, they received 62-of-65 votes from the AP and it marks the eighth time they're been number one in said polls, tying UCLA for the number of times receiving the top mark.
The Ohio State Buckeyes come in at number three, the same place they found themselves in the Coaches Poll. They received one of the three first-place votes that didn't go to the Tar Heels, the other two of which went to Connecticut, the defending national champions. Ohio State continues to be ranked highly with All-America Jared Sullinger and guard William Buford returning. They've got a strong recruiting class, and are the highest ranked Big Ten team.
Ahead of Ohio State was Kentucky, but they received no first-place votes. Be sure to head over to the main hub for the full poll.
