The Ohio State Buckeyes suffered an upset on Saturday, when the No. 13 Kansas Jayhawks upset the No. 2 team in the nation, winning 78-67. The Buckeyes fall to 8-1 on the season, losing its first game away. Kansas moves to 7-2 on the season with the victory, and a shakeup in the top five of the AP Poll is expected. Deshaun Thomas did do well for Ohio State, with 19 points, five rebounds, an assist and a steal. He shot 50% on the day.
Thomas Robinson did just a bit better though, with 21 points, seven rebounds, an assist and a steal, and it was good enough to lead the Jayhawks to the upset win.
Ohio State was without its best player, Jared Sullinger, who missed this game and the last with back spasms. It was clear that he was missed, as Evan Ravenel was unable to perform filling in for him, shooting 2-for-7 and not attempting any three pointers. He did make five of six free throws, but it's a far cry from the 11 points he scored against Texas Pan-American when Sullinger missed his last game.

The Ohio State Buckeyes find themselves trailing in a tilt of top-15s on Saturday, as the Kansas Jayhawks lead them at the half by a margin of 35-29. It's not a wide margin by any means, but it's significant because OSU is at the other end of the top-15 spectrum, sitting at No. 2 and sporting an undefeated 8-0 record, while Kansas, with a 6-2 record, is at No. 13.
Ohio State clearly is missing their best player, as Jared Sullinger is not playing this game with back spasms. Sullinger also missed the team's last game, against Texas-Pan American. Evan Ravenel filled in for him at that point and had a career high 11 points. At the half, though, Ravenel is currently 0-2 in shooting, but has made all four of his free throw attempts.
Deshaun Thomas is leading the way for the Buckeyes, with 15 points, two rebounds and a steall, and is shooting 5-for-8 and 3-for-5 in three pointers. Tyshawn Taylor leads the way for the Jayhawks, with four points, two rebounds and eight assists.

No. 2 Ohio State is going to have to do battle with No. 13 Kansas without their best player today, as Jared Sullinger has been officially ruled out of today's match up with back spasms, per CBS' Jeff Goodman:
Sullinger was originally listed as probable, but was downgraded earlier today before officially being ruled out. Junior transfer Evan Ravenel will again take Sullinger's spot as he did against Texas-Pan American when he scored a career high 11 points.

The week leading up to Ohio State's big match up against Kansas, it looked like their star forward Jared Sullinger was going to be good to go -- he was listed probable as of yesterday when he felt so good that he woke up dancing.
Well, he must have suffered a set back this morning, because Seth Davis is tweeting that Sullinger is now 'unlikely' to play today vs. the No. 13 Jayhawks.
Sullinger sat out the Buckeyes last game with back spasms, but was improving leading up to today's game. We'll update you as soon as Davis gets official word, but this is obviously not boding well for the undefeated No. 2 ranked Buckeyes.

The undefeated, No. 2 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes will visit Phog Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas to take on the No. 13 Kansas Jayhawks (6-2) on Saturday afternoon, in a Top 15 tilt. This will be the Buckeyes first road game this season, although they already have a pair of wins against Top 10 teams (Florida and Duke).
If the Buckeyes want to remain undefeated on Saturday, they may have to do it without their 6-foot-9 sophomore forward Jared Sullinger. Sullinger sat out the Buckeyes last game with back spasms and is probable for the game. He leads the Buckeyes in scoring (19.3) and rebounding (10.3).
