Jared Sullinger Injury: Ohio State Big Man Out With Back Spasms

A Jared Sullinger injury is expected to keep the Ohio State Buckeyes big man out of the lineup for at least Saturday night's game. CBS Sports reports it could be longer, too, as the NBA prospect recovers from back spasms.

Jared Sullinger is one of the best players projected to enter his name in the NBA Draft this season and has led the Ohio St. Buckeyes to an undefeated record through the first seven games of the college basketball season. The center will miss the team's eighth game due to injury, however, and perhaps maybe even longer.

Sullinger is expected to miss Saturday night's game against Texas-Pan American Broncos due to back spasms. The center might be forced to miss further games with the condition, too, according to a report from CBS Sports' Jeff Goodman.

Sullinger has been receiving treatment for the last couple of days, and will be re-evaluated after the weekend. He did not practice Thursday or Friday. The Buckeyes aren't certain when Sullinger will return, but sources told CBSSports.com that the injury could keep Sullinger out for an extended period of time.

The 6-foot-9 big man is averaging 19.1 points and 10.3 rebounds while shooting 62 percent from the field and an impressive 83 percent from the free-throw line this season.
