Ohio State defensive back Devan Bogard will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL.

Ohio State freshman defensive back Devan Bogard will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL. Bogard recorded three tackles in two games this season.

Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer said about Bogard: "Love him; one of my top five guys on the team."

Meyer added: "If we could recruit 100 Bogards, life would be pretty good around here."

Junior wide receiver Philly Brown is expected to play against Penn State this week, according to the Morning Journal. Brown suffered an injury last Saturday against Purdue.

Brown is Ohio State's second-leading receiver with 41 receptions for 403 yards and one touchdown. Brown has also rushed the ball seven times for 61 yards and a touchdown this season.

Ohio State is ranked ninth in the AP poll after opening the season with eight consecutive wins, and will travel to play Penn State this week. Both the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions are tied atop the Leaders division in the Big 10, but both are ineligible for post-season play due to NCAA sanctions.
