Ohio State lands 3 players on AP All-American teams

Three Ohio State Buckeyes defenders were named to one of the AP All-America teams.

Three Ohio State Buckeyes were named to one of the three AP All-America teams on Tuesday. All three players to earn the honor play on the defensive side of the ball. Junior defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins and sophomore cornerback Bradley Roby were both named to the second team while senior defensive end John Simon was named to the third team.

Hankins announced on Monday, Dec. 10 that he would forego his senior season to enter the 2013 NFL Draft. He recorded 55 tackles and one sack this season and is considered one of the top defensive tackle prospects in the draft.

Roby, a red-shirt sophomore, recorded 63 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, and 17 pass break-ups over 11 games in the 2012 season.

Simon lead the Buckeyes with nine sacks and added 44 tackles (15 for loss), a forced fumble and four pass deflections as the leader of the Ohio State defense.
