The tournament run for the Saint Louis Billikens ended against the Michigan St. Spartans 65-61. St. Louis came back from a 12-point second deficit to cut the lead to 53-51, but they were never able take the lead.
The way that St. Louis was able to stay in this game was due that they went to the free throw line 23 times and made 18 of them. Their offense was not too helpful as they shot 35 percent from and went 7-of-25 from three-point range. Each and every time St. Louis cut into Michigan State's lead the Spartans would respond in kind to keep the Billikens at bay.
It was this three-pointer that sealed St. Louis' fate by Michigan State's Keith Appling which gave Michigan State a 58-51 lead with 1:37 left in the game. Appling also scored a game-high 19 points.

Looking to make the Sweet 16 for the 10th time under head coach Tom Izzo, the No. 1 seed Michigan State Spartans hold a 26-21 halftime lead over the No. 9 Saint Louis Billikens in Columbus.
Saint Louis shot a woeful 26-percent in the first ...
But the Billikens were able to go on a little run after starting 0-for-7 and finding a little bit of a rhythm to take a brief 15-11 lead, but Michigan State answered with an 11-0 run, which included this oomph:
Saint Louis' strong defense is keeping the Billikens in it, though. MSU is shooting a solid 48-percent, but they have nine turnovers. Saint Louis has kept opponents to a remarkable 54 points per game this season and are on pace to better that today. If they can hit a better percentage of their shots in the second half, they might be able to pull off the upset.

The No. 11 NC State Wolfpack are headed to the Sweet 16 in St. Louis after upsetting the No. 3 seed Georgetown Hoyas on Sunday afternoon, 66-63. It's NC State's first trip to the Sweet 16 since 2005.
In the first seven minutes of the second half, NC State built off their 15-2 run at the end of the first to take an 11-point lead on the favored Hoyas. Georgetown answered with a 9-2 run of their own to pull within three, but the Wolfpack wouldn't allow the Hoyas to close the gap entirely.
Georgetown did manage to cut the deficit to one with 37 seconds remaining after a pair of Henry Sims free throws and had a chance to tie or take the lead around 15 seconds.
Here's how that opportunity played out for the Hoyas:
NC State extended their lead to four at the charity stripe, but the Hoyas scored a quick bucket with six seconds left to give them one final shot to tie if NC State couldn't convert its freebies. Lorenzo Brown, who had hit the previous three free throws, missed the second and gave Georgetown its last-ditched effort, which was actually a really good look:
Jason Clark finished with a forgettable 3-for-11 shooting day for the Hoyas. Hollis Thompson led the Hoyas with 23 points. Three from NC State led the Wolfpack with 14 points -- C.J. Williams, Scott Wood and C.J. Leslie.

No. 3 Georgetown Hoyas are taking on No. 11 North Carolina State in Columbus on Sunday afternoon with the winner advancing to the Sweet 16 to play the winner of today's Kanas-Purdue game. The underdog NC State leads at the half, 30-27
The Wolfpack didn't grab their first lead until a three-pointer by C.J. Williams with three minutes left in the half put them up 27-25, capping off a 12-0 run. Trailing by as many as eight, the Wolfpack finished the half on a 15-2 run to take the three-point halftime lead. Williams finished the half with a game-high nine points.
Georgetown turned the ball over five times during NC State's run and had nine overall. The Hoyas are being led by guard Jason Clark's six points and three assists, but he's just 1-for-5 shooting.

On Sunday night, the No. 3 seeded Florida State Seminoles will take on the No. 6 Cincinnati Bearcats for the right to advance to the Sweet Sixteen next weekend. The winner will play No. 2 Ohio State, who defeated No. 7 Gonzaga on Saturday afternoon.
After taking the ACC Tournament, the No. 3 Seminoles had to stave off a furious effort by the No. 14 St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Friday in order to get to Sunday. A win vs. the Bearcats would give the 'noles their second straight Sweet 16 appearance and fifth all-time.
The No. 6 Bearcats had a little bit more comfortable win in their first tournament game, although No. 11 Texas Longhorns made a late rally to make things interesting. A trip to the Sweet 16 would be their 11th, but they haven't been since 2001.
Here's everything you need to know about Sunday night's game:

After a 74-59 cake walk against No. 14 Belmont on Friday night, No. 2 Georgetown Hoyas advance to their first Round of 32 since 2008 (when they lost to Stephen Curry's No. 10 Davidson). They hope to build on the Belmont win Sunday in Columbus against the No. 11 North Carolina State Wolfpack. A win vs. the Wolfpack would be the first Sweet 16 appearance for the Hoyas under John Thompson III since 2006, his first season with the team.
NC State's looking to make it's first trip to the Sweet 16 since 2005 and their deepest run in the tournament since the Jimmy Valvano era. The Wolfpack upset No. 6 San Diego State on Friday behind junior forward Richard Howell's 22 points.
The winner will go to St. Louis to play the either No. 2 Kansas or No. 10 Purdue. Below is everything you need to know about this match up for viewing purposes:

After taking care of Long Island on Friday night, 89-67, the West Region's No. 1 seeded Michigan State Spartans are in the Round of 32 against No. 9 Saint Louis on Sunday. Saint Louis also won on Friday, "upsetting" No. 8 Memphis, 61-54, to improve to 26-7 on the season.
If Michigan State wins in Columbus on Sunday, they would head to Phoenix for the Sweet 16 to play the winner of the No. 4 Louisville-No. 5 New Mexico game. If the Spartans advance, it would be their 10th Sweet 16 appearance since Tom izzo took over the head coaching job in 1995.
Saint Louis, on the other hand, hasn't been to the Sweet 16 since 1957 and it would be only their third appearance in their program's history. The game on Sunday vs. the Spartans marks just the sixth time they've made it to the Round of 32, the last coming in 1998 when they lost to the eventual champion Kentucky.
Here's everything you need to know for the game:

On a day filled with upsets, Michigan State played like they did not want to be another giant felled by an upstart seeded near the bottom of the bracket. The No. 1 Spartans left little doubt, beating LIU-Brooklyn by a final score of 89-67.
Michigan State was particularly tough on the boards. They had 42 rebounds to just 19 for the Blackbirds.
The Spartans shot almost 59 percent from the floor. Leading the way was Draymond Green with a triple-double. He finished the game with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Four other players finished in double digits for scoring.
The Spartans will play St. Louis University in the second round of the tournament, on Sunday.

The Michigan State Spartans lead Long Island University-Brooklyn Blackbirds by a score of 42-37 at halftime. The Blackbirds are looking to add to the long list of underdog winners on Friday.
If LIU-Brooklyn is going to pull off the upset, they will have to do a better job on the boards. The Spartans are out-rebounding the Blackbirds 20-10.
Draymond Green leads MSU with nine points. Two other MSU players have eight points. Green also has six rebounds and three assists to lead his team.

The 2012 NCAA Tournament has already been full of surprises and Friday was only the second day of the second round. One of Friday's night games put the No. 13 Ohio Bobcats up against the No. 4 Michigan Wolverines. Ohio came into the game as huge underdogs and ended up surprising a lot of people -- not least of whom were the members of the Michigan team -- en route to a 65-60 upset win.
The Bobcats took a surprising lead into halftime and in the second half, set about alternately expanding and maintaining that lead. The Wolverines were not out of the fight, however, as they battled back in the last five minutes of regulation to cut the Ohio lead to three points. The Wolverines were still down by three heading into the final minute of play.
Michigan got an unbelievably lucky break with 40.1 second remaining, as they knocked the ball out of bounds but were awarded the possession on a ruled last touch by Ohio -- which was an exceedingly bad call. Michigan missed their shot, but got another chance as an Ohio player really did kick it out of bounds with 17 seconds left. The Bobcats forced a turnover, however and were able to shoot free throws with just over six seconds remaining. Ohio sunk both of their shots to make it a five point game. The three-pointer from Michigan would not go and the defensive rebound for Ohio sealed the upset victory. Video of Michigan's game-ending turnover below:
Bobcats guard D.J. Cooper led all scorers in the game with 21 points.

One more Round of 64 matchup is in the books for the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Another elimination has been recorded in Columbus. In one of Friday night's second-round games, the No. 8 Memphis Tigers went up against the No. 9 Saint Louis Billikens, in one of the most evenly-matched games of the entire bracket. Saint Louis was able to put together a fantastic second half to win the game by a final score of 61-54 and advance in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1998.
The Billikens nailed a three-pointer as the buzzer for the first half sounded, which tied the score at 23-23 to head into the half. Saint Louis relied on the three-pointer again in the second half, as some clutch treys allowed them to take the lead and extend it to seven in the closing minutes. The Tigers sunk a three-pointer of their own in the final minute to cut the Saint Louis lead to four, but the Billikens went up by seven again with less than 10 seconds remaining.
Billikens guard Kwamain Mitchell led all scorers in the game with 22 points.

The Round of 64 has powered right into its second night as the 2012 NCAA Tournament hurtles along breathlessly. One of the evening games on the slate has the No. 13 seed Ohio Bobcats (27-7, 11-5 MAC) taking on the No. 4 Michigan Wolverines (24-9, 13-5 Big Ten). The Bobcats are attempting to pull off a big upset and prove they belong in the tournament. After the first half, Ohio is stunning the Wolverines with a 35-29 lead
The Bobcats jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and have done an admirable job thus far of holding their own against a top-seeded and formidable opponent in Michigan. Four minutes prior to the half, the Bobcats went up by 10 points. Michigan cut the lead drastically in the final couple of minutes, but were unable to go ahead. Ohio guard D.J. Cooper is leading all scorers through the half with 13 points.

The teams are two of the most evenly-matched in the entire tournament and through the half, they have been playing like it in a close contest, as was expected. At halftime, the score is tied, 23-23.
While the first half has not necessarily been pretty, it has been close. Both teams are shooting around 33 percent from the floor. No players have reached double digits in scoring. Kwamain Mitchell hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer to knot the score heading into the half.

On Friday, the No. 3 seed Georgetown Hoyas took on the No. 14 seed Belmont Bruins in Columbus in the 2012 NCAA Tournament's Round of 64. The game was dominated by Georgetown from top to bottom, as they enjoyed a comfortable double-digit lead throughout a large portion of play. They eventually managed to advance with a 74-59 win.
The Bruins went on several small runs in the second half, cutting the lead to single-digits before falling behind by 10 or more again and again. The Hoyas played with ease and immense confidence as they held Belmont at bay for the duration of the game. They will play the N.C. State Wolfpack in the Round of 32.
Georgetown guard Jason Clark led all scorers in the game with 21 points.
The Hoyas did receive some bad news during the game, as word came in that Hoyas mascot "Jack," the live bulldog, was at home suffering from a "torn dog ACL." This information was relayed by a sideline reporter in a manner suggesting that it wasn't a joke, but who even knows any more?

Friday's first upset belongs to No. 11 North Carolina State. They beat No. 5 San Diego State by a final score of 79-65 in the first round of play in the Midwest regional.
For forty minutes, many who watched the game had to wonder how the Wolfpack got lumped with an 11-seed in the first place. They handled the Aztecs with outstanding post play, huge blocks and big dunks.
Richard Howell finished the game with 22 points for the Wolfpack. Lorenzo Brown had 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. NC State hit 57.4 percent of their field goals, 20 percent better than the Aztecs.
Jamaal Franklin led San Diego State with 23 points, including four-for-nine from outside the arc.

The Ohio Bobcats can buck a trend when they play the Michigan Wolverines on Friday. With only two lower seeds winning their games in the NCAA Tournament on the first day of the second round, Ohio have a chance to be the most talked about upset so far.
The Bobcats are in the tournament thanks to a win over Akron in the MAC tournament that shocked the Zips out of a spot they were sure they would win. It certainly wasn't a bad regular season for Ohio (27-7, 11-5) but the Michigan Wolverines and their share of the Big Ten regular season title certainly have a more impressive resume.
It's not quite as popular an upset pick as you'd think, but 13 seeds winning is certainly not unheard of and the Bobcats will look forward to a winnable game against Temple or South Florida if they can topple the Wolverines on Friday.

The Long Island Blackbirds are going to have a mountain to climb if they want to be the first ever No. 16 seed to upset a one seed -- though UNC-Asheville came agonizingly close to doing so on Thursday against Syracuse -- in the NCAA tournament as they face the strong Michigan State Spartans on Friday in Columbus.
Draymond Green and the Spartans offense may have had fewer average points per game than the Blackbirds, but the Spartans are a good defensive team and the Blackbirds have turned the ball over 16 times per game on average during the year. The fact that the Spartans allowed almost 20 points fewer per game than Long Island doesn't bode well.
The Blackbirds will need to be led by Julian Boyd, whose 17.6 average points per game were tops in the NEC. Past an amazing three point shooting display or sudden defensive collapse from Michigan State though, it's probably a tall order to hope for an upset from Long Island.

The Xavier Musketeers might not have deserved a seed quite as high as they got in the 2010 NCAA tournament after a mediocre regular season and a dropped final game in the Atlantic 10 tournament, but they can now take over their usual trendy sleeper pick status as they face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday during the tournament's second round.
Notre Dame made the tournament thanks to a nine game winning streak that saw them tear through the Big East at the end of the regular season, including being the only team to topple Syracuse. They're led by the Big East most improved player of 2012, Jack Cooley. Cooley put in 12 points and nine rebounds per game for the Irish this season.
Only two lower seeded teams got upsets on the tournament's first day, so Xavier can buck some trends with a win over the Irish late on Friday.

After 20 minutes of neck-and-neck basketball, No. 11 North Carolina State leads No. 6 San Diego State by a score of 33-29 at the half in first round play in the Midwest region. The Wolfpack has another 20 minutes to keep their upset bid alive.
Working in favor of the Wolfpack is their 50 percent shooting from the field. Richard Howell is seven-for-nine, leading the team with 15 points. Lorenzo Brown has five assists and eight points.
The Aztecs are hitting just 38 percent of their field goal attempts. Jamaal Franklin leads the team with 13 points, including a three-for-five mark from outside the arc. San Diego State is hitting 75 percent of their free throws, but they have just four attempts. The only miss was this Deshawn Stephens airball.

The Ohio State Buckeyes advanced late Thursday night with a 19-point win over Loyola, but their sluggish play against the Greyhounds won't be good enough in the next round when they face Gonzaga. Jared Sullinger stated after the game that they'll be packing their bags on Saturday if they play like that again.

The evening session in Columbus tips off all the action around the country at 6:50 pm, with No. 8 seed Memphis taking on No. 9 seed Saint Louis. The Billikens are coached by Rick Majerus and are dancing for the first time since 2000. SLU was 25-7 this season, and hold their opponents to an average of 57 points per game with some stifling defense. The Memphis Tigers are loaded with talent under young coach and ace recruiter Josh Pastner. At times, they underachieved this season but they enter the tournament on a high note, having dominated the C-USA conference tourney. They have a lot of offensive firepower and can get out and run, so this with match to very opposing styles of play. The Tigers are currently favored by three points. The second game of the day in Columbus matches a storied Big East program against a recent mid-major upstart with tournament experience and a ton of confidence. The Georgetown Hoyas are one of the best defensive teams in the country, routinely holding opponents below 60 points. They will face off against the No. 14 seeded Belmont Bruins, who are one of the highest-scoring teams in the country, averaging more than 80 points per game. That's good enough for fourth best in the country, so this will be a matchup of strength vs. strength. The Hoyas are currently favored by four points. Complete broadcast information below:

The No. 6 seed Cincinnati Bearcats tip off their NCAA Tournament with the first game of the day on Friday. They will face off against Rick Barnes' Texas Longhorns at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The Horns snuck in off the bubble after a strong final two weeks of the season. They're a talented but extremely young club led by J'Covan Brown. The Bearcats are currently favored by a mere two points and are coming off a successful Big East Tournament run that ended with a disappointing loss to Louisville in the finals. Mick Cronin's club will look to get back on track and will face the winner of Florida State and St. Bonaventure game if they can get past the Longhorns.

NCAA Tournament action returns to Columbus on Friday, with the first game of the day pitting No. 6 seed San Diego State against No. 11 seed North Carolina State. The Wolfpack snuck in off the bubble with an impressive ACC Tournament showing. Mark Gottfiried's club advanced to the semifinals in Atlanta and pushed the No. 1 seed North Carolina Tar Heels to the limit. San Diego State comes to Columbus at 10-4 in a competitive Mountain West Conference. The Aztecs are not the touted team they were last year, but they're still a well-balanced team with a lot of quality wins on their resume. The lower seeded Wolfpack are actually favored by 2.5 points so this should be a good, close game to start the day in Columbus. Complete broadcast information below:

No. 2 Ohio State couldn't win the Big Ten this season, faltering in the final against the Michigan State Spartans. The big tournament starts now for them as they take on No. 15 Loyola in the East bracket on Thursday evening.
Ohio State come into the tournament looking great with a 27-7 record and one of their best chances to win their second NCAA tournament in a while. They're led by plenty of talent including Jared Sullinger, who gave a fine performance in the Big Ten title game.
Loyola's Greyhounds got their slot in the tournament with a 24-8 record and the championship of the MAAC. Erik Etherly leads their offense with 13 points and seven rebounds per game, but past him the pickings are slim when it comes to straight talent on the Loyola roster.
This is only Loyola's second appearance all time in the NCAA Tournament with their first coming in 1994, when they lost to Arizona in the first round. They will need to put together an amazing basketball game to beat in form Ohio State, who except for the end of the Big Ten championship game have been near unbeatable in their most recent few games.
The game will be at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Tip off is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.

With all of the "First Four" games now complete, SB Nation has an updated printable bracket.
The updated bracket reflects Wednesday's action -- No. 12 South Florida's 65-54 drubbing of Cal, and No. 16 Vermont's 71-59 win over Lamar.
South Florida's win sets up a 12-5 matchup with Temple in the Midwest Region. Vermont, meanwhile, earned the dubious privilege of playing North Carolina, also in the Midwest.
Also check out the bracket to see the hurdles standing between Ohio State and a trip to the Final Four. The Buckeyes, who are the No. 2 seed in the East Region, will play Loyola (MD) in the first round before taking on either Gonzaga or West Virginia in Round 2.

The First Four in Dayton concludes on Wednesday night when the Cal Golden Bears go up against the South Florida Bulls. These are the only two big six BCS conference teams playing in Dayton this year, as both just snuck in - one at the end of a league loaded with NCAA Tournament teams, and the other as the only at-large bid from their conference. Stan Heath's club had a very successful season in the Big East, going 12-6, but the Bulls were on the bubble because their conference schedule featured some of the weaker teams when the season shook out.
Both teams have two of the better defenses in the country, so don't expect this one to become a shootout, or even reaches the 70s. The winner of this game will go on to face No. 5 seed Temple in Nashville on Friday. The Golden Bears are currently favored by three points. The complete broadcast information can be found below:

Lamar and Vermont - a pair of 16 seeds in the Midwest regional - will take to the court on Wednesday night in the first of two "first four" games slated to be played in Datyon, Ohio, with a second round matchup against North Carolina at stake.
The Catamounts earned their fifth trip to the NCAA tournament by winning the America East tournament, defeating top-seeded Stony Brook 51-43 in Saturday's final. Vermont's most fabled NCAA tournament moment was a 2005 victory over Syracuse in overtime, led by guard TJ Sorrentine.
Lamar found its way into the tournament by ripping off six straight wins to close the season, which came on the heels of a post-game rant by head coach Pat Knight lambasting his seniors. Knight's remarks evidently were heard, as the Cardinals stormed through the Southland conference tournament to earn the school's sixth NCAA bid.

One thing that has become a March Madness tradition is the First Bracket, as ESPN's Andy Katz visits with Barack Obama to fill out the President's college hoops picks. In addition to filling out a bracket, Obama also took in some live action on Tuesday when he visited Dayton for the First Four game between Western Kentucky and Mississippi Valley State.
On Wednesday, he filled out his bracket again with Katz, and Buckeye fans will be pleased to know he has OSU winning the East region. Unfortunately for Ohio State fans, that's as far as he has Thad Matta's club advancing, with the Bucks losing to North Carolina in the national semifinal. He has the Heels winning at all, defeating Kentucky in the title game. That's the second time in his term that he's picked Roy Williams and UNC to cut down the nets.
More: Check out President Obama's complete bracket.
Perhaps looking to win some votes in Southwest Ohio, the President has both the Cincinnati Bearcats and Xavier Musketeers winning their first round games. The President did not predict a Bobcat upset, however, with OU dropping their opening round matchup to Michigan.

The second day of opening round action in the NCAA tournament starts off with a pair of 16 seeds squaring off, as Lamar and Vermont will tussle for the right to take on North Carolina in second round Midwest Regional play.
Vermont, the America East tournament champs, is a familiar face in the Big Dance, having made four previous trips, including a memorable 2005 run in which they defeated Syracuse in the first round. Lamar, meanwhile, ripped off six straight wins in the wake of a post-game rant from head coach Pat Knight that went viral and spread all over the world of sports media. Tip time for the contest is 6:40 p.m. EST.
The evening will be capped by Cal and South Florida, who each earned an at large invitation after 20+ win seasons. South Florida surprised and hung tough in a competitive Big East, while Cal earned one of just two bids from the watered-down Pac 12. The winner of this matchup - scheduled to begin at 9:10 p.m. EST - will take on Temple, the fifth seed in the Midwest regional.

Those who attended Tuesday night's action in Dayton to witness the opening round games on the NCAA tournament (a crowd which included President Obama) got their money's worth, as both games featured dramatic second halfs.
The night began with Western Kentucky taking on Mississippi Valley State, and the game really got started with less than five minutes to play, when Western Kentucky mounted a historic comeback from 16 points down. The Hilltoppers completed the furious comeback when freshman guard TJ Price completed a three-point play with just :33 second remaining, and his team held on for a 59-58 victory.
Next up was Iona and BYU, and this was a lopsided affair for the opening 20 minutes, with Iona going up by as many as 25 points. The Gaels took a 55-40 haltime lead into the locker room, but the Cougars stormed all the way back for a 78-72 win.
BYU advances to take on Marquette in second round play, while Western Kentucky will now get a crack at top-seeded Kentucky.

The 2012 NCAA Tournament tips off tonight with the First Four round in Dayton. President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron are scheduled to take in the action from a luxury box. The best game of the night features two No. 14 seeds playing for the right to move on and play No. 3 seed Marquette in Louisville on Thursday.

The Gaels and Cougars were two controversial teams to just sneak in on the right side of the bubble. Iona finished 25-7 and had a strong RPI, but the Gaels were bounced in the semifinals of the MAAC tournament by Fairfield. BYU's season consisted of the Cougars falling back to earth from Jimmermania, going 12-4 in their first season in the WCC. The Cougars are currently favored by two. SB Nation's Matt Ufford and Nick Fasulo break down the East Region of the NCAA Tournament for SB Nation's YouTube channel.
Fasulo thinks that top-seeded Syracuse could be vulnerable against potential second-round matchup Kansas State, which is one of the nation's top offensive rebounding teams. The No. 8-seed Wildcats average 14.2 offensive rebounds per game, good for 15th in the nation -- and second among BCS conference schools.
As for Ohio State, Fasulo thinks the Buckeyes will make it to the Elite 8. He wonders what coach Thad Matta might do with Jared Sullinger against that famous Syracuse zone, and talks about what it will take for Ohio State to advance to the Final Four.

A win over Iowa State in the Big 12 Tournament likely clinched the Longhorns spot.

The Cleveland St. Vikings are headed to the postseason despite losing in the Horizon League Tournament in the semifinals. The Vikings earned a No. 6 seed to the NIT, and they will play at Stanford on Tuesday night at 11pm. the game will be televised by ESPN2, and the Cardinal carries a 21-11 record into the game.
Stanford had a sub-par record this season in a very weak Pac-12 conference, finishing just 10-8 in the league. The Vikings have hope for a victory as well. Butler, a fellow Horizon League member, beat the Cardinal in Maples Pavillion 71-66 on December 21. That was one of just two non-conference losses by Stanford,t he other coming at the hands of Syracuse.
Stanford does not come into the NIT with much momentum. They were just 6-8 int heir last 14 games, while Cleveland State also struggled by losing six of its past eight to fall out of the Horizon League race.

The Ohio Bobcats head to the NCAA tournament on the heels of an exciting Mid-American Conference Tournament Championship. Despite a 3rd place regular season finish in the MAC, Ohio would need to win the league tournament as the MAC was expected to be a one bid league for the NCAA tournament.
Having accomplished that, the Bobcats earned a No. 13 seed in the NCAA tournament where they will face 4th seeded Michigan. A third round matchup with either Temple, California or South Florida would await should the Bobcats pull off an upset win.
North Carolina, Kansas and Georgetown are the top three seeds in the Ohio bracket. Other Midwest regional teams include San Diego State, Crieghton and St. Mary's.
Here's the full Midwest Region bracket for the 2012 NCAA Tournament:

No. 8 Creighton
No. 9 Alabama

After a solid regular season, the Ohio Bobcats still needed a title run in the MAC Conference Tournament to land a bid to the NCAA tournament. Having done that, Ohio landed the No. 13 seed in the Midwest region for this year's NCAA Tournament. Ohio is the lone representative for the Mid-American Conference.
Besides the uphill battle of being a No. 13 seed, the Midwest region has more than its share of talented teams that could pose problems for this Ohio team. In their first game of the tournament, the Bobcats will need to get past 4th-seeded Michigan, a team that finished tied for 1st in the Big 10 during the regular season.
In the third round the Bobcats are looking at a potential matchup with a pair of bubble teams or one solid Atlantic 10 opponent. Temple is the No. 5 seed after winning the Atlantic 10 which has been one of the strongest mid major conferences this season. Temple will face the winner of South Florida and California, two at large bubble teams that squeaked into the tournament.
If the Bobcats have some success early in the tournament, they could eventually face the likes of North Carolina, Kansas or Georgetown, the region's top-three seeds, in later rounds.

After landing a No. 13 seed in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, the Ohio Bobcats will be playing 4th-seeded Michigan to kick things off in their first game of the tournament. The Bobcats received an automatic invitation to this years NCAA tournament after winning the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship.
During the regular season the Ohio Bobcats finished 3rd in the Eastern division of the MAC which earned the Bobcats the No. 3 seed in the MAC tournament. In the championship game the Bobcats knocked off top seeded Akron. Without that win Ohio is not in the tournament, but with a great run the Bobcats cap off a solid regular season and now have an opportunity to make a memory in NCAA tournament.
Ohio now prepares to face 4th-seeded Michigan, an at large selection from the Big 10. Michigan is a program that has been building in recent years and made it over the hump finishing tied for 1st in the Big 10 conference during the regular season.
The Wolverines have wins over No. 1 seeded Michigan State and No 2 seeded Ohio State during the regular season and fell to Ohio State in the Big 10 semifinals.

The Ohio St. Buckeyes fell just short of a Big 10 championship on Sunday afternoon, but they were still rewarded with a No. 2 seed in the East Region. Ohio St. will face the Loyola (MD) for their first game, and will see the winner of Gonzaga-West Virginia in the third round. As for potential matchups should Ohio State advance into the second weekend: Syracuse, Florida State, Wisconsin and Vanderbilt, among others.
Here is the complete bracket for the East Region:
No. 1 Syracuse
No. 16 UNC Asheville
No. 8 Kansas State
No. 9 Southern Miss
No. 5 Vanderbilt
No. 12 Harvard
No. 4 Wisconsin
No. 13 Montana
No. 2 Ohio State
No. 15 Loyola
No. 7 Gonzaga
No. 10 West Virginia
No. 3 Florida State
No. 14 St. Bonaventure
No. 6 Cincinnati
No. 11 Texas
The Florida St. Seminoles are red-hot right now, and just defeated Duke and North Carolina to win the ACC Tournament this week. The Syracuse Orange have been near the top of the polls all season long and Jim Boeheim is about as proven as you can get when it comes to NCAA Tournament experience. Looking for a non-top seed to reach the Final Four? Wisconsin and Vanderbilt are among the most popular choices from the experts.
Reaching the Final Four is certainly possible for the Ohio State Buckeyes, but it will be far from easy.

Xavier heads to the NCAA tournament as the No. 7 seed in the South Region. In their first game of the tournament the Musketeers will square off against Notre Dame, the 3rd place finisher in the always difficult Big East Conference.
The South region is full of strong teams that could make a run at the Final Four including potential third round opponent Duke who received the No. 2 seed in the region. Should the Musketeers advance to the second weekend of the tournament they could run into two surging teams in Baylor and Colorado or potentially face off against a fellow mid major in UNLV.
The South region also holds the top seed overall in Kentucky as well as last years National Champion Connecticut. Indiana, Iowa State and surprise Final Four participant in 2011 VCU also landed in the South.
Here's the full South Region bracket for the 2012 NCAA Tournament:
No. 1 Kentucky
No. 16 Mississippi Valley State OR Western Kentucky
No. 8 Iowa State
No. 9 UConn
No. 5 Wichita State
No. 12 VCU
No. 4 Indiana
No. 13 New Mexico State
No. 6 UNLV

After a successful regular season, the Xavier Musketeers have landed the No. 7 seed in the South region for this year's NCAA Tournament, as the selection committee announced on Sunday. One of just four teams from the Atlantic 10 to get a bid, the Musketeers received an at-large invitation despite failing to win the conference tournament.
The South region should pose numerous challenges for a talented Xavier team. In their first game of the tournament, the Musketeers will be facing 10th-seeded Notre Dame, with the winner moving on to face No. 2nd seeded Duke or 15th seeded Lehigh in the third round.
With Duke looking like the likely draw, Xavier would have to beat the 3rd place finisher in the Big East and then face off against a Blue Devil team that received consideration as a No. 1 seed.
If the Musketeers have some success early in the tournament, they could eventually face the likes of Baylor, Kentucky or Indiana, the region's top-three remaining seeds, in later rounds.

After landing a No. 10 seed in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, the Xavier Musketeers will be playing 10th-seeded Notre Dame to kick things off in their first game of the tournament. The Musketeers received an at-large bid from the tournament's selection committee after turning in a 21-12 record during the regular season.
Xavier finished fourth in what was considered one of the top mid major conferences in 2011-2012, the Atlantic 10. In the Atlantic 10 Tournament the Musketeers used a win over 2nd seeded St. Louis to reach the tournament final before losing to conference champion St. Bonaventure.
Xavier now prepares to face 7th seeded Notre Dame an at large selection from the Big East. The Irish struggled out of the gate after facing some fairly high expectations heading into the year. Several tough non conference losses and a slow start in the Big East had many wondering if they would make the tournament.
Then Mike Brey and Notre Dame turned a corner. The Irish used a strong Big East run to climb all the way up to 3rd in the standings. The Irish would then lose in the semifinal round of the Big East tournament to eventual champion Louisville.

Cincinnati heads into the NCAA Tournament as the No. 6 seeded team in the East region. The Bearcats will face 11th seeded Texas in the first game of the tournament and if they win they'll take on the winner of Florida State and St. Bonaventure.
The East region is full of talented teams including the top seed Syracuse. Syracuse would be a familiar foe for the Bearcats as both teams are in the Big East and the Bearcats are coming off an upset win over the Orange in the Big East semifinals.
The Big 10 co-champion sits as the 2nd seeded team in the East region, while another fellow Big East representative, West Virginia, sits as the 10th seeded team. SEC Tournament champion Vanderbilt, Wisconsin and perennial mid major power Gonzaga are all also seeded in the East region.
Here's the full East Region bracket for the 2012 NCAA Tournament:
No. 1 Syracuse
No. 16 UNC Asheville
No. 8 Kansas State
No. 9 Southern Miss

After a successful regular season, the Cincinnati Bearcats have landed the No. 6 seed in the East region for this year's NCAA Tournament, as the selection committee announced on Sunday. Cincinnati is one of eight teams from the Big East to get a bid, and the Bearcats were an at large selection coming off a run to the Big East tournament finals.
The East region should pose numerous challenges for a talented Cincinnati team. In the first game of the tournament, the Bearcats will be facing 11th-seeded Texas, with the winner moving on to face No. 3 seeded Florida State or No. 14 seeded St. Bonaventure in the next round.
If the Bearcats have some success early in the tournament, they could eventually face off against No. 2 Ohio State or Big East regular season champ Syracuse.
Cincinnati appeared in the tournament a year ago where they would fall in the 3rd round fellow Big East school and the ultimate National Champion, the Connecticut Huskies.

The Ohio St. Buckeyes earned a No. 2 seed for the 2012 NCAA Tournament and will face the Loyola (MD) Greyhounds for their first game. Should the Buckeyes advance -- and they definitely should -- they will face either the No. 7 seed Gonzaga Bulldogs or No. 10 seed West Virginia Mountaineers. That matchup between GU and WVU appears to be a true toss-up and their play styles are very different from the other.
The Bulldogs like to push the tempo, while the Mountaineers like to bang around and use their physicality to gain an advantage. Both of the head coaches (Mark Few, Bobby Huggins) have plenty of NCAA Tournament experience and both will have their teams prepared for whatever comes their way.
If I'm the Buckeyes, I would prefer to play Gonzaga. They are the higher seed, but they have a freshman point guard who has been erratic at times and do not have the size to defend Ohio St. for 40 minutes.
The Mountaineers feature an incredibly talented player in Kevin Jones that is capable of taking over a game and creates matchup problems all over the floor with his size and strength. Combine him with senior point guard Darryl Bryant and their ability to grind games out down the stretch and you can see why WVU could present OSU with problems.

After landing the No. 6 seed in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, the Cincinnati Bearcats will be playing 11th-seeded Texas to kick things off in the first round. The Bearcats received an at-large bid from the tournament's selection committee after a 24-10 record through the regular season and Big East tournament.
The Bearcats spent a good deal of time flirting with the bubble early on during Big East play. The Bearcats struggled at times out of the gate and lost three in a row in late January. Fortunately the Bearcats started to put together a convincing stretch run that ultimately ended with a loss in the Big East tournament. That run included a win over Syracuse in the semifinals and that was more than enough to push the Bearcats all the way up to a No. 6 seed.
Cincinnati now begins preparation for a game against the final team to get in from the Big 12 conference, Texas. Texas received an at large bid out of the Big 12 and was likely one of the final teams selected by the committee. While the Longhorns played in a tough conference and challenged some very strong opponents, they were never able to get over the hump and get a signature win against the likes of Kansas, Missouri or Baylor.
Texas is led by J'Covan Brown and they head into the tournament coming of their third loss of the season to the Missouri Tigers in the Big 12 tournament. A win over Iowa State in the Big 12 quarterfinals likely clinched the spot for Rick Barnes and the Longhorns.

The Ohio St. Buckeyes earned a No. 2 in the East Region and will face the Loyola (MD) Greyhounds for their first game of the 2012 NCAA Tournament. We all know plenty about the talented Buckeyes, but very little is known about their opponents the small school from Maryland. Let's take a look at the Greyhounds and their 2011-2012 season.
Record: 24-8
Key Wins/Losses: The Greyhounds lost by 24 when they traveled to face the Kentucky Wildcats back in December. They fell to No. 14 seed Iona by 12, and lost to Wake Forest by 12 to begin their season.
Conference Standing From Regular Season: Loyola (MD) finished 2nd in the MAAC and won their conference tournament, knocking off Fairfield in the title game.
Top Players: They feature four scorers who average double-digits in points, and they are led by 6-foot-7 junior forward Erik Etherly who averaged 13.5 points and 7.4 rebounds during the regular season. Sophomore guard Dylon Cormier averaged 13.4 PPG. Sharp-shooter Robert Olson hit 44% of his shots from behind the arc and averaged 11.2 points in 2011-2012.
