The Ohio State Buckeyes will face the in-state rival Cincinnati Bearcats in the Sweet 16 on Thursday.
Since the No. 6 Cincinnati Bearcats won the Big East tourney, they've been on quite the tear and it's led them to an unexpected Sweet Sixteen berth in the NCAA Tournament. It's no surprise that No. 2 Ohio State made it that far after a great season that saw them only one Michigan State loss away from the Big Ten title.
Cincy got where they are now by utilizing good defense and rebounding, with neither team they played scoring more than 60 points against them. Their offense has mostly run through guard Sean Kilpatrick and his 14 points per game. Ohio State will be the toughest opponent yet for the Bearcats defense, with a several pronged attack featuring Jared Sullinger (17.4 PPG) and William Buford (14.7 PPG) leading the way, among plenty of other talented scorers.
If Cincinnati can keep the points low and the game physical, they could very easily pull out an Elite Eight appearance. Ohio State will need to pile on the offense; if the game starts to become a straight up shootout the Bearcats probably won't be able to keep up. Either way, it's going to be a fun battle for supremacy in the state of Ohio.
Game Time: March 22, 9:45 p.m. (Approx.) ET
TV: CBS
