VIDEO: William Buford Nails Game Winner For Ohio State Vs. Michigan State

The Ohio St. Buckeyes defeated the Michigan St. Spartans in the final second of regulation to win the regular season finale and create a three-way tie atop the Big Ten standings with the Michigan Wolverines. The entire team deserves credit for the second half surge they exhibited, but William Buford came up big time during a clutch situation. Of all his 25 points, none was better than this two-point shot, which gave the Buckeyes the 72-70 lead. Check it out at 11 seconds in the video below:

With the eight seconds left in the game, Aaron Craft received the ball on the inbounds and stepped around for several seconds. Buford received the ball with three seconds left and got a shot off just inside the arc for the clutch shot and the 72-70 lead.

We likely would have forgotten about that shot had Draymond Green made the three-pointer he heaved up at the buzzer, but it couldn't even find the rim.

Ohio State Vs. Michigan State Final Score: Buckeyes Mount 2nd Half Comeback To Defeat Spartans

After a dismal first half to the game against the Michigan St. Spartans, the Ohio St. Buckeyes roared back in the second half to pick up the narrow 72-70 victory. The Buckeyes gained a share of the Big Ten regular season title with the Spartans and the Michigan Wolverines.

Tied at 70 with just 24.7 seconds left on the clock, Ohio State had the ball to inbounds and play for the game-winning shot. Aaron Craft danced around the floor until three seconds or so remained on the clock before passing the ball to William Buford. Buford then made a two-point shot with just 1.0 second left on the clock for the 72-70 lead. Draymond Green attempted a last-second desperation three-pointer, but it fell short.

Buford finished the game with 25 points while Jared Sullinger put in 14 points and 10 rebounds. After shooting 25 percent from the field in the first half, Ohio State hit on 17-of-24 shots in the second half to finish at 42.1 percent for the game.

Draymond Green led the Spartans with 19 points and 12 rebounds, but Brandon Wood and Derrick Nix put in 15 and 11 points, respectively.

Ohio State Vs. Michigan State Halftime Score: Buckeyes Struggle In 1st Half Against Spartans

The Ohio St. Buckeyes appeared to have fought back against the Michigan St. Spartans in the final minutes of the first half, but the Spartans hold a 38-29 halftime lead at the Jack Breslin Student Events Center in East Lansing, MI. The Buckeyes had an 8-0 run to bring the game to within five-points, but the Spartans kept the pressure on and the Buckeyes' shooting woes continued.

Ohio State hit just 25 percent of its shots (7-of-28), but they did manage to hit 14-of-18 free throws. Jared Sullinger leads with eight points, but he was just 2-of-10 from the field. Lenzelle Smith Jr. has five points on 2-of-3 shooting.

Keith Appling leads the Spartans with 10 points while Brandon Wood has come off the bench with eight of his own. Draymond Green has grabbed seven boards and found the net for six points. The team is shooting 51.7 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Will the Buckeyes solve their troubles during the halftime break?
