The Xavier Musketeers will play for the Atlantic 10 championship against St. Bonaventure on Sunday but even if they don't earn the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, the run to the championship appears to have earned Xavier an at-large bid, according to Joe Lunardi's latest bracket projections.
Lunardi has Xavier penciled in as a 12 seed in the Midwest Region playing Wichita State at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. With Xavier in the mix, Lunardi has four Ohio school in the Big Dance. Ohio State will play for the Big Ten championship on Sunday but appear locked in as a No. 2 seed. Lunardi has the Buckeyes in the Midwest Region as well, playing Loyola (Md.) in Pittsburgh.
Cincinnati lost the Big East championship game on Saturday night but the Bearcats will have an at-large bid. Lunardi places Cincy in the South Region as a dreaded No. 8 seed playing Iowa State in Greensboro, NC which would give them top seed North Carolina in the second round.
The Akron Zips are projected as a No. 14 seed but get a favorable first-round placement in the South Region playing in Columbus, OH against Michigan.

The Cincinnati Bearcats essentially punched themselves a ticket straight to the NCAA Tournament with their thrilling double overtime win over Georgetown in the Big East tournament, even if they lose to the Syracuse Orange in their next game. The new SB Nation Bracketology predictions are out and Cincy got a boost up to an eight seed after the win over the Hoyas. They're slated to take on nine seed Virginia in the South bracket.
Ohio State still have to wait for the results of the Big Ten tournament to roll through before they know their final fate, but it currently looks good as usual for the Buckeyes with a two seed, facing them off against Lehigh in the West bracket. Akron also didn't move at all as they wait for the MAC tournament, still at a 14 seed. Their new opponent in the projected bracket is the Baylor Bears.

The Big Ten Tournament isn't done yet, but Bracketology must go on. It's unlikely that the winner of the tournament will be able to dethrone Syracuse, North Carolina, Kansas or Kentucky from one of the No. 1 seeds in the big dance, but the Ohio State Buckeyes will give it their best shot. As it stands now in the latest SB Nation Bracketology predictions, the Buckeyes are firmly entrenched as a two seed alongside their Big Ten leading brethren from Michigan State.
The two seed in the Midwest bracket pits the Buckeyes against Long Island University from the NEC. Cincinnati have played their way to a spot in the big dance as well, currently projected to be a nine seed in the West, facing Kansas State.
Akron have been given a spot in the tourney as well by the prediction barring any bad performance in the MAC tournament after having a stranglehold on that conference all season long. They are currently a projected 12 seed, facing the Michigan Wolverines.
