Rory McIlroy has now won two of the three FedEx Cup Playoffs events this season and has a sizable amount of momentum around him heading into the 30-man field for the Tour Championship. He's atop the FedEx Cup standings with 4,799 points. He's more than a full 1,000 points ahead of second-place Nick Watney, who has an official score of 3,468.

McIlroy wrapped up his win at the 2012 BMW Championship on Sunday, earning a $1.44 million purse for his efforts. His winning score was 20-under, two shots ahead of Lee Westwood and Phil Mickelson. This came right off of a victory at the Deutsche Bank Championship.

Lee Westwood moved up 15 spots to a projected eighth, with an official of No. 23 for his second-place finish at the BMW Championships.

BMW Championship 2012 Results: Rory McIlroy Wins Again

Rory McIlroy played a near flawless final round Sunday at the BMW Championship in Carmel, IN to take home his second title in as many weeks.

McIlroy finished the tournament at 20-under, two shots ahead of Lee Westwood and Phil Mickelson and three shots ahead of Tiger Woods. Vijay Singh led going into Sunday but finished five shots off the pace at 15-under.

Fresh off a victory at the Deutsche Bank Championship, McIlroy entered the final round Sunday down one stroke to leaders Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh. By the turn, McIlroy had taken the lead, yet to make a bogey. McIlroy continued playing mistake free golf until the No. 18 when he finally bogeyed. He finished his final round with six birdies, 5-under.

Tiger Woods entered his final round three shots back of the lead but only two shots back of McIlroy, however, he could not keep pace with the world's No. 1 golfer. Not many could. McIlroy's 5-under was the third best round of any player at the BMW Championship Sunday.

McIlroy has now won three of the last four tournaments he has played in including a major, the PGA Championship. His only slip-up was a 24th finish at The Barclays.

BMW Championship Leaderboard: Ben Curtis Moved Up 15 Spots On Saturday

The BMW Championship leaderboard features quite a few familiar faces at the top. Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh will head into the final day atop the leaderboard as they're both 16-under, but Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, Dustin Johnson, Tiger Woods and Zach Johnson are all also in the top ten heading into the fourth and final round.

Not to be forgotten, however, is Kent State alumnus Ben Curtis as he moved up 15 spots with his play on Saturday afternoon and is now in a tie for 18th place at nine-under par. It's unlikely that he'll move all the way to the top of the leaderboard on Sunday, but it's nice to see local guys getting close.

Be sure to check out the up-to-date leaderboard at Golf.com.
