College Football Rankings, Week 6: Buckeyes Remain At #2

The Buckeyes struggled a bit with Illinois on the road on Saturday, winning 24-13, but it didn't cost them in the AP Poll released on Sunday.  Ohio State remained at #2, behind Alabama who beat Florida 31-6.  The rest of the Top-5 has Oregon at #3 for the first time as the Ducks have jumped over Boise State.  The Broncos keep winning, but their big win of the season - Virginia Tech - continues to struggle while Oregon came from 21-3 down at home to beat Stanford 52-31.

TCU rounds out the Top-5.

Perhaps the biggest news was the omission of Texas in the poll for the first time in 162 weeks.  The last time the Longhorns were not in the Top-25 was nearly 10 years ago - October 15, 2000.

The streak now belongs to Ohio State, who has been in the poll every week for 90-straight weeks, three weeks longer than the Gators.
