Cavs Called Larry Bird

Fear The Sword, via ESPN.com, picked up a story about the Cavaliers’ interest in Larry Bird to replace Mike Brown as head coach this summer.

Why this news comes out now, the day of the Cavs’ preseason opener, is curious, but does go to show that Dan Gilbert and Chris Grant were leaving no stone unturned when it came to the job.

Byron Scott, of course, was eventually hired on July 2.
