Browns have sent a late-round draft pick to the Minnesota Vikings for DE Jayme Mitchell.
↵Mitchell is a four-year veteran out of Ole Miss. He has played sparingly in four seasons with the Vikings recording 5.0 sacks and 13 tackles.
↵The move looks to be a good one. The Browns add some quality depth to an aging defensive line for a cheap price. Mitchell has good size (6'6", 285 lbs.) and should be worked into the 3-4 DE rotation as soon as this weekend.
↵There is no telling what round the late pick is, but acquiring a role player that could develop into more with a 5th, 6th or even 7th round pick is a quality gamble that Heckert decided to take. The Browns need youth up front, something Mitchell, 26, has.
