Browns Face Crossroads Game Tomorrow

In my humble opinion, the season, for the Browns, rests on the game tomorrow against the Atlanta Falcons.

↵

Atlanta is good but they can be beat. It took a last-second field goal — at home — for the Falcons to beat winless San Francisco last week.

As for the Browns, the disappointment of losing to both Tampa Bay and Kansas City was partly washed away with the win last week over Cincinnati. Beat Atlanta and the Browns would be sitting at 2-3 but with momentum going into Pittsburgh next week. Lose to Atlanta and, realistically, this season would be as good as over, with a continuing long stretch of tough games coming up.

And so — a crossroads game. Do the Browns step up against a “better” team and keep this season alive? Or do they fall to 1-4 and watch as the distance between them and playoff-caliber teams increases?

Bring it tomorrow, Browns. Bring it, and who knows what could still be made of 2010.
