A Couple Of Ironies

So the Browns just lost to the Jets on a catch-and-run pass that was for all intents and purposes a 'Hail Mary' -- when it looked for all the world as if there would be a so-rare tie on the lakefront this afternoon. Just a horrible way for a game to end when the Jets’ field goal kicker had already missed three times -- and it seemed as if it might come down to a long field-goal attempt for New York.

So who do the Browns get next week? They get the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville…on the same field where the Jaguars beat the Houston Texans today — on a 50-yard deflected pass on a Hail Mary at the end of regulation.

On another note of irony -- sometimes people ask me why I am not so much a fan of college ball. It is precisely because of what happened today...someone you root for (such as Santonio Holmes) for three or four years can come into your stadium as a pro and be part of dealing heartbreak to "your" team. Go Buckeyes -- but don't blame me for not being your Number One Fan...just being honest in the midst of a bitter defeat.
