Justin Masterson’s effort last night was a stunning example of what a player cast off by a team can do when his A-game coincides with a chance to get a measure of revenge against that team for letting him go. In my opinion such a performance qualifies as a major surprise, for a pitcher who came into the game with a 1-5 record and an ERA of over 5, and facing a powerful lineup.
↵Which Cleveland sports story has been the most surprising this year? Is it the Cavaliers having failed to make the Finals? The Browns cutting loose both Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn? Something else?
