It didn’t take Indians’ prospect Matt LaPorta long to get re-acquainted to crushing minor league pitching. Two days after being demoted to AAA-Columbus, LaPorta hit three home runs in the Clippers’ 8-0 win over Rochester.
↵LaPorta went 0-3 in his Clippers’ debut on Tuesday night, but wasted no time in his second contest, leading off the 2nd Inning with a solo home run. All told, LaPorta went 4-4 with 5 RBIs.
↵While LaPorta struggled, and saw playing time go to vets Russell Branyon and Autsin Kearns, in Cleveland, his showing with Columbus is another teasing reminder why the Indians made him the cornerstone of the C.C. Sabathia trade a couple years ago.
