The Browns have sent Abe Elam, Lawrence Vickers, Jerome Harrison, Matt Roth and D’Qwell Jackson written notification that their tender offers will be lowered on June 15th, according to the Plain Dealer’s Tony Grossi. Prior to sending the letters, each player had face to face discussions with Browns President Mike Holmgren, in which they were informed that the letters would be sent.
This means that if the players do not sign their tenders by June 15th, they can lose upwards of a million dollars.
Expect them to sign, but they still could possibly hold out. The maximium amount a player can be fined for missing a day of camp is roughly $16,000 a day. While that seems like a lot, it is much less than a million.
