Red Sox Rookie Matches Former Indian's Feat

Daniel Nava of the Boston Red Sox hit the very first pitch he saw in the major leagues for a grand-slam home run on Saturday night – only the second time the feat has been accomplished in history – in Boston’s victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Former Indian Kevin Kouzmanoff was the only other player to swat the first pitch he ever faced for a slam, in September, 2006 against Texas.
