More information on the wild and wonderful soap opera starring Tom Izzo and the Cleveland Cavaliers, with a guest appearance from LeBron James, has surfaced. Brian Windhorst reported last night that James would "100 percent" support hiring Izzo, but his latest update suggests that not even James' full support includes any sort of meeting or consultation with Izzo to discuss the Cavaliers' coaching vacancy.
All along, James has not planned to speak to coaching candidates or lobby for certain coaches to replace Mike Brown. James, according to a source, has not spoken with Izzo about the job or his future and currently has no plans to do so.
He intends to become a free agent on July 1 and does not plan on committing to anything until after he explores his free agent options.
