An 18-Game NFL Schedule -- Your Thoughts?

New, 1 comment

There has been talk of the NFL adding two games to the regular season, and dropping two exhibition games. Tom Brady of the Patriots and Ray Lewis of the Ravens, strange bedfellows under any circumstances, agree in saying that they would be opposed to the idea, citing, among other things, the added toll to players’ bodies with two extra full-bore games.

How would you feel about adding two games to the schedule? Would it make the season too long, and not be worth the added risk of players wearing down and getting hurt, or would it add even more excitement to the playoff race to know that a team could get hot in the final weeks and sneak in, even if that team was, say, three games out of the playoffs after 13 games, and had five games to make up ground instead of only three?
