Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) – Matt LaPorta and Shelley Duncan hit back-to- back home runs during a six-run fourth inning rally that carried Cleveland to a 6-1 win and four-game series sweep over Toronto.
Trevor Crowe had three hits and knocked in a run and Jason Donald had two hits and scored once for the Indians, who have won a season-high five straight games.
Justin Masterson (3-7) was the beneficiary of the offense, going 8 1/3 innings to grab the win, as Cleveland pulled off its first four-game sweep of the Jays since August 28-31, 1995. Masterson allowed eight hits, did not walk a batter and fanned five to win for the first time in four starts.
Shawn Marcum (7-4) absorbed the loss after yielding six runs — five earned — on five hits and three walks, while striking out seven over four frames for the Jays, who have dropped five straight.
