Robaire Smith Charged For Bringing Loaded Gun To Airport

Remember when DL Shaun Rogers of the Cleveland Browns was ridiculed for having a loaded gun in his luggage at Cleveland Hopkins Airport back in April? Rogers said he forgot about the gun, and is now facing a possible 1- to 2-game suspension from the league. Well, guess what? Rogers wasn’t the first Browns defensive lineman to do that.

According to reports, Browns DE Robaire Smith has been charged with the same crime — only his occurred last November at a different airport. The story gets better folks: Smith was with Rogers back in April.

Pro Football Talk speculates that perhaps there is a chance that Rogers took the hit for Smith having a gun in an airport for a second time, but I can’t imagine that being the truth. I’m sure the gun was registered to Rogers, and on top of that, he’d be pretty stupid to face legal issues for a fellow lineman.
