Travis Hafner Records A Four-Hit Game

Cleveland Indians hitter Travis Hafner, who really hasn’t had a “great” season since 2006 but is getting paid quite a bit of dough, had his first four-hit game in a long time on Sunday.

Hafner’s last four-hit game came on April 23, 2007 against the Minnesota Twins. Hafner also drew two walks in that game, meaning he reached base successfully all six times he was up. The Tribe won that game 7-3.

Against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, Hafner went 4-for-4 with three singles and a double. Unfortunately, none of his hits came with runners were in scoring position; Cleveland lost 4-2 despite Hafner’s 11-point surge in batting average.
