Westbrook Heads For St. Louis In Three-Way Deal, Indians Get San Diego's Top Pitching Prospect

Jake Westbrook was scheduled to start today against the Toronto Blue Jays but was scratched for a not-your-everyday reason:  He was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in a three-way deal also involving the San Diego Padres.

The Indians pick up the top San Diego pitching prospect, Corey Kubler, who is presently at the AA level.

The fire sale is on in earnest, as this makes the fourth Indian to leave, following Russell Branyan, Jhonny Peralta and Austin Kearns as the Tribe filters players to contending teams far and wide.
