A night after being held to three hits by the Detroit staff, the Indians managed only four hits tonight and lost to the Tigers, 5-2, to fall a season-high (or low) 23 games under .500.

Josh Tomlin took the loss, allowing all five runs in six innings, to fall to 1-3. The Indians scored on a Detroit error in the first inning and in the third on a Travis Hafner RBI single.

Max Scherzer was the winning pitcher for the Tigers, evening his record at 9-9. Jose Valverde earned his 24th save.

The series wraps up on Sunday afternoon, with Jeanmar Gomez getting the start for the Indians.
