The Oakland A’s hit three home runs tonight in support of Gio Gonzalez’s 11th win as Oakland shut down the Indians 5-0 at Progressive Field for the Tribe’s fourth straight loss.

In the four game streak the Indians have totaled just 19 hits, or less than five a game.

Fausto Carmona was the losing pitcher tonight, dropping under .500 at 11-12. One very bright spot for Cleveland was the continued excellence of Justin Germano out of the bullpen. Germano, with two scoreless frames tonight, has now pitched 14 2/3 innings for the Indians and has yet to surrender an earned run.

Game two of the series is tomorrow night with Trevor Cahill going for Oakland against Mitch Talbot.
