Despite the fact that former Browns quarterback Derek Anderson no longer plays for Cleveland, a good percentage of fans are still following his progress with the Arizona Cardinals. It’s not that he has a fan club necessarily; most of those fans just want to see Anderson blow up in Arizona too. Now, he might get that chance.
↵Coach Ken Whisenhunt announced that Anderson will start the third preseason game this week against the Chicago Bears. That means that Matt Leinart will come off the bench:
↵↵↵Whisenhunt stressed the change wasn’t necessarily permanent, but it doesn’t take a genius to see this is now Anderson’s job to lose. The third preseason game is every team’s chance for a final “dress rehearsal” for the season.

It looks like Anderson is getting the better deal than Brady Quinn. Quinn has to fight off Tim Tebow in Denver for the No. 2 quarterback job, and starter Kyle Orton has been outstanding thus far.
↵Either way, thank goodness for Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace.
