Asdrubal Cabrera's Walkoff Homer Beats Royals 4-3 In Ten Innings

Asdrubal Cabrera ended an extra-inning affair tonight at Progressive Field with a solo home run in the tenth frame as the Indians, after squandering a three-run lead, defeated the Kansas City Royals 4-3 for the Tribe’s third straight victory.

The Indians got to Cy Young winner Zack Greinke for three runs in the first two innings before he settled down, and Jeanmar Gomez held the fort into the sixth inning before leaving with a 3-2 lead. Unfortunately, the bullpen could not close the deal, as the Royals tied the game in the eighth, but all was forgotten in the tenth as Cabrera homered off of Jesse Chavez to send the crowd home happy.

Chris Perez was the beneficiary of the heroics to gain his second win of the season. The series winds up tomorrow afternoon with Fausto Carmona trying to give the Indians a sweep and to move back into a tie for fourth place with Kansas City.
