Fausto Carmona, who pitched brilliantly in a 1-0 loss to Seattle last weekend, went one better tonight, holding the Central Division's first place Minnesota Twins to three hits and going the distance for his first shutout in over two years, as Matt Laporta's home run gave Carmona all he needed in a 2-0 win.
↵The other Indians' run scored on an Asdrubal Cabrera sac fly in the fifth as the Tribe beat old friend Carl Pavano, dropping Pavano to 16-11.
↵Carmona (12-14) broke a personal six-game losing streak with his first shutout since May 2008 against the Blue Jays, and with the win, the Indians ended the Twins' six-game winning streak. Minnesota leads the Central by five and-a-half games pending the White Sox game against Kansas City.
