The Indians were going to be spoilers last night, if only for one night.
↵Fausto Carmona handed the ball to the bullpen with a 4-2 lead and Rafael Perez did his part with a scoreless inning. But Justin Masterson and Tony Sipp charitably allowed four runs in the eighth inning and Minnesota went on to beat the Indians 6-4, and then later last night clinched the Central Division when the White Sox lost yet again.
↵Wild party at Target Field, mitigated only by the fact that the Tribe was long gone from the dugout by the time Chicago completed their fold job.
↵Drew Sutton raised his batting average to a tidy .350 for the Indians and four separate players had an RBI, but in the end what matters is this: Congratulations Minnesota.
↵Maybe we can take one today if the Twins are too giddy to care. Carlos Carrasco will go for his second straight win this afternoon as the Indians try to turn on the jets for the home stretch to achieve (gasp!) 70 wins.
