Nix Homers Twice, Tomlin Goes The Distance; Tribe Snaps Five-Game Skid

Break out the Yoo-hoo in the clubhouse! The Indians will not lose 100 games!

Behind a complete game from Josh Tomlin and two home runs from Jayson Nix, the Tribe broke their five-game losing streak tonight with a 7-3 victory over the Royals, to again climb within a half-game of Kansas City and winning their 63rd game of the season.

Tomlin weakened a little in the ninth, giving up a two-run homer, but manager Manny Acta let Tomlin seal the deal, for the first complete game of Tomlin’s career.

Nix hit solo homers in the second and in the eighth, and was joined in the RBI parade by Shin-Soo Choo, also with two runs batted in, and three other Indians with one RBI apiece.

Tomorrow night Jeanmar Gomez goes up against reigning Cy Young winner Zack Greinke.as the Indians attempt to crawl out of the cellar.

That is, if they don’t overdo it tonight with the Yoo-hoo.
