Indians Rally With Five In Eighth, Beat Royals, 5-3

The Indians, trailing by three entering the bottom of the eighth inning today, tied the game on a three-run homer from Shelley Duncan and scored the winning two runs on a Michael Brantley double in the same frame to beat Kansas City for the third straight day, this time by a score of 5-3.

Rafael Perez was the beneficiary of the rally to move to 6-1 on the season, while Vinnie Pestano — yes, that Vinnie Pestano -- picked up his first major league save in his second big league game, as the Indians moved a game and-a-half clear of the Royals for fourth place in the Central Division.

With the triumph the Indians equaled their victory total from last year, winning their 65th game of the season.

Detroit comes to town beginning tomorrow to commence the final home series of the season.
