The NFL didn’t go as far as some wanted, but they did reach into the wallet of Detroit Lions’ rookie Ndamukong Suh and grab a stack of cash.
↵ESPN.com is reporting that the NFL fined Suh $7500 for his head-twisting, facemask-grabbing throw-down of Delhomme in last weekend’s preseason game. The play had Browns backup QB Seneca Wallace calling for a suspension.
↵Browns’ head Coach Eric Mangini didn’t believe Suh was trying to hurt Delhomme.
↵↵↵“It put the quarterback at risk, but I’m not the official,” Mangini said. “You don’t want to see that at any point, but my experience with him in the draft process is that he’s a good kid and it was just not a great decision.”

A costly decision, too.
