Marathon Men: Tribe Loses To Angels In 16 Innings

Maybe a double-header wasn't on the schedule last night, but the Angels and the Indians decided to come very close to playing one.

In the longest game of the season in terms of time and of innings, the Tribe lost the series' finale to Los Angeles, 4-3 in 16 innings and over five hours of baseball, after fighting back to tie the game in the ninth inning on a Jayson Nix base hit. The Indians stranded 16 runners, and both teams had threats all through extra innings, which you can read about here in a complete recap of the game.

Hector Ambriz took the loss in his fourth inning of work as the Indians finished their west coast swing at 4-3. The Tribe is off today, and hosts first-place Minnesota this weekend at Progressive Field.
