Maybe a double-header wasn't on the schedule last night, but the Angels and the Indians decided to come very close to playing one.
↵In the longest game of the season in terms of time and of innings, the Tribe lost the series' finale to Los Angeles, 4-3 in 16 innings and over five hours of baseball, after fighting back to tie the game in the ninth inning on a Jayson Nix base hit. The Indians stranded 16 runners, and both teams had threats all through extra innings, which you can read about here in a complete recap of the game.
↵Hector Ambriz took the loss in his fourth inning of work as the Indians finished their west coast swing at 4-3. The Tribe is off today, and hosts first-place Minnesota this weekend at Progressive Field.
