Blue Jackets Remain Winless After Falling To Stars

The Columbus Blue Jackets remain winless in the two-week-old season after losing to the Dallas Stars 3-2 on Sept. 18.

"You can hang your head and feel sorry for yourself, but nobody else in the league is going to feel sorry for you so you better keep throwing that effort out there," Blue Jackets coach Scott Arniel said. "You'd think with 40 shots you're going to get more than two. We've got to find a way to get more goals."

The Blue Jackets finished in last place in the Central Division a year ago, but this season is looking even worse. Not only does Columbus have yet to notch a win, they are currently without their top two free agent signings: Center Jeff Carter is out with a broken foot and defenseman James Wisniewski has two games remaining in an eight-game suspension,

It doesn't get any easier for the Blue Jackets either, who now travel to Detroit to face the undefeated, first place, 4-0-0 Red Wings on Oct. 21. Tough times.
