Former Cavs Guard Larry Hughes Wants To Play

Larry Hughes wants everyone to know that he still has the desire to play basketball, despite missing all of 2010-11 after failing to sign a contract as a free agent in the Summer of 2010.

According to a story in the News-Herald, Hughes still has the itch to play.

“Having a role on a team, a contending team, is what I’m looking for,” he said. "We’ll see how it goes.”

Hughes, of course, was a prized free agent signing by former Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry in 2005 and was supposed to fit perfectly with rising-star LeBron James. The moved was a failure and Hughes was eventually sent packing.

Since his time with the Cavaliers, Hughes has played for the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks and Charlotte Bobcats.
