The Kent State Golden Flashes may have had an unusual start to the 2011-12 college basketball season, but they are making the most of a 10 a.m. tipoff in Morgantown, WV by pushing the Mountaineers early as part of ESPN's college basketball marathon. Kent State only trails West Virginia 33-28 at the half, and they are receiving a balanced scoring effort from all corners.
So far five different Kent State players have cracked the scoring column, but the Flashes are only shooting 35.7% from the field. Carlton Guyton leads the Flashes with 11 points and Justin Greene has six points.
West Virginia has been dominant on the glass, and Kent State will have to get a better effort on the glass if it is going to pull the road upset. West Virginia has a 23-9 rebounding edge at the break, with Kevin Jones leading the way at seven points and 10 rebounds.
