Xavier Vs. Vanderbilt Final Score: Musketeers Down Commodores 82-70 In Overtime

The Xavier Musketeers worked overtime to stay undefeated on Monday night. Xavier, ranked #11 in the country, improved to 5-0 after beating the #19 ranked Vanderbilt Commodores 82-70 at Memorial Gym.

After a perfectly even first 40 minutes, the Musketeers jumped all over Vanderbilt in overtime, starting the extra session on an 8-0 run and outscoring the Commodores 16-4 in overtime.

Xavier's backcourt dominated the game, as Tu Holloway easily outscored Vanderbilt 10-4 all by himself in overtime, hitting a pair of triples before Vanderbilt even scored and then icing the game by making four straight free throws. He finished with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Backcourt mate Mark Lyons was also excellent, adding 19 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals. Together they played 82 combined minutes and committed just two turnovers.

John Jenkins led Vanderbilt with 20 points but was the only Commodore to score in overtime.

The undefeated Musketeers next host the Purdue Boilermakers on Dec. 3 before heading to Hinkle Fieldhouse to take on the two-time runners-up Butler Bulldogs on Dec. 7.
