Miami (OH) Vs Cincinnati Final Score: Bearcats Top RedHawks 56-47

A balanced attack beat a one-man show in a battle of Ohio men's college basketball teams on Tuesday night as the Cincinnati Bearcats defeated the Miami RedHawks 56-47.

The Bearcats overcame 26 points by Miami senior forward Julian Mavunga to improve to 4-2, while the RedHawks fell to 2-3 on the season.

Five players scored 9+ points for Cincinnati while Mavunga, who was coming off a 27-point outing in his last game in a loss to Southeast Missouri State, was the only RedHawk to reach nine points.

Cheikh Mbodj led Cincinnati with 12 points off the bench while Yancy Gates, Dion Dixon and Sean Kilpatrick all scored 10 and Cashmere Wright added nine points.

Cincinnati jumped to an 8-0 start and led from start to finish, but they were only up 23-22 at halftime and it was a competitive, single-digit game throughout the entire second half.

Both teams hit the road next: Miami faces Troy State on Saturday while Cincinnati takes on Georgia on Friday.
