The Ohio State Buckeyes are not in the hunt for any sort of BCS bowl games with their record and need some help if they are going to be in the hunt for the Big Ten championship game, but SB Nation's 2011 bowl projections still seem to be going in favor of Luke Fickell's team. Not so much that they are in the running for a notable bowl game, really, but at least it looks like they could have a game on New Year's Eve.
The mothership's Bill Connelly has been doing a weekly projection of the bowl games and, after Saturday's victory over the Indiana Hoosiers, it seems the Buckeyes have picked up a better draw in the bowl games. It might be a difficult road trip, but Connelly currently has the Buckeyes playing the Texas Longhorns in the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas.
The 2011 Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas will feature teams from the Big 12 and Big Ten conferences and will kick off at 11:00 a.m. CST on Saturday, Dec. 31 on ESPN. The bowl holds the fifth choice among non-BCS bowls in each conference.
